Puppies are fragile and could get easily overloaded with the training, schedules, and expectations. We teach how to raise the puppy smart (or a smart puppy), by giving him a lot of opportunities to be a dog. Simple? Should be, but in our result-focused societies, that’s something that gets often overlooked.
The puppy socialization classes consist of 8 meetings (starting with the theory meeting for the owners only), 5 practical sessions where further information and help will be provided and 2 social walks where the skill of walking nicely on the leash in a group will be exercised.
During the 5 meetings, a broad aspect of raising a dog will be covered, such as:
- understanding how the dogs learn
- understanding what the dogs need
- understanding the dogs’ ways of communicating
- we will discuss the different equipment and choose the suitable one for your pup
For the practical part of the class, we will cover:
- loose leash walking
- coming back when called
- calming signals
- ‘drop’ exercise
- how to deal with the jumping dog
- hand signal
